Start Your Own Decorating Business
Today’s show is a continuation all about different decoration methods and how to get started… We have talked a lot about the details of different things in the industry, but never really about how to really get started, so lets basically start at the beginning.
First we are recapping what we covered before then wrapping it up finally!
Aaron: Terry, let’s start up by giving us a review of starting up a screen printing operation.
Terry: Andrea, your turn. Give us a review of starting up an embroidery operation.
- software & computer
- hoops / hooping station
- supplies / consumables
- machine & education…
Andrea: OK Terry, back to you. Talk to us about starting a direct-to-garment business.
- Items needed
- White ink
Terry: Aaron, tell us about sublimation printing. What’s involved in starting up?
- Systems like Epson, Ricoh, Sawgrass Etc.
- Heat Presses

Terry: OK Aaron, new subject, let’s talk cut vinyl. First cutting isn’t limited to garments, tell us about the substrates a new vinyl cutter could decorate.
Andrea: What is it going to take for a new user to learn this process?
Terry: Somebody walks into your booth and says I need a full vinyl cutting setup, what is the list of equipment and supplies you’re going to sell them?
Andrea: What’s the price range a new customer will pay to get setup?
Combining them all together to create extra value/marketing
Aaron: Terry, give us an example of a multimedia application you’ve seen.
